SUMMARY:MECMESIN: Introduction to Consumer Packaging Testing
DESCRIPTION:Damaged packaging can not only cost money but also impact brand perception. Consumers are less likely to purchase a product with damaged packaging\, or if their product arrives damaged from poor packaging during the shipping and transport process. Additionally\, many brands want to maximize cost savings for their packaging by minimizing excess material and “over design” while keeping the products protected in transit. Packaging testing will help reduce packaging costs by identifying proper protection levels and eliminating unnecessary or excessive packaging materials. \nIn this webinar\, we’ll discuss the benefits of testing\, when to test and what can be tested. We’ll then look to real-world packaging applications\, such as: top load\, opening torque\, peel and tear\, wear and scratch\, box crush\, pump actuation\, and more. Finally\, we will review the types and advantages of the testing equipment that is used in consumer packaging testing. \nWhat we’ll discuss: \n\nWhat\, Why\, and When to test (R&D\, Production\, QC\, etc.)?\nTypical Packaging Applications:\n\nPlastic Bottles and Containers; Caps\, Corks\, and Stoppers; Seals and Seams; Labels and Wrappers; Cartons and Card; Dispensing Mechanisms\n\n\nTesting Equipment: Force\, Torque & Wear Abrasion\n\nWho should attend?\nManufacturing\, Production and Quality Managers and Engineers involved in:\n‒ Packaging industry (closures\, containers\, jars\, bottles\, tubes … plastic and metal)\n‒ Food and Beverage\, Pharmaceutical\, Medical Device\, Cosmetics\, etc. \nTo register\, click here

SUMMARY:MECMESIN: T-Peel (Adhesion Strength) Testing
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will focus on the most common approach to measuring the adhesion strength of two materials bonded together with an adherent. Commonly known as the T-Peel Test\, this type of testing can be found in industries like packaging\, automotive\, leather and upholstery\, food\, and beverage and many more. \nThis test is a quick\, simple\, and repeatable method when establishing quality or safety standards in adhesion strength testing. We’ll be discussing the benefits of T-Peel tests over other adhesion test types as well as a live demonstration of pass/fail criteria. \nWhat You’ll Learn : \n\nThe importance of Adhesion strength testing\nIndustries where adhesion testing is critical\nBest methods of T-Peel Testing (Manual\, Motorized or Automated)\nSelection the best grips and fixtures\nFactors that affect consistent and repeatable testing\nCapturing and analyzing test data\n\nWho should attend:  \nManufacturing\, Production and Quality Managers and Engineers involved in: \n\nPharmaceutical and Medical Device\nFood & Beverage\nElectrical and Mechanical Assembly\nPackaging\nLeather and Upholstery\nGlue and Adhesives\n\nTo join\, click here

SUMMARY:MECMESIN: Medical Devices – Syringe & Needle Testing Fundamentals
DESCRIPTION:Vial sealing is a critical step in the process of ‘fill and finish’ operations for vaccines and medications\, as it defines the seal quality of the final product\, ensuring sterility and preventing leakage. The final strength test associated with the vial involves characterizing the force required for a hypodermic syringe needle to pass through the elastomeric closure in accordance with ISO 8362-7. \nPlastic single use manual syringes require the evaluation of the force profile associated with expelling fluid from the syringe barrel. The most common test is the breakaway and glide force measurement. Breakaway force measures the initial peak force required to begin plunger movement while glide force is the average force required to continue depressing the plunger (ISO 7886-1 Annex E) \nIn this webinar you’ll learn an overview of the standards associated with force testing needle and syringes\, calculating penetration force\, and syringe plunger force\, setting up actuation tests\, and establishing pass/fail criteria. \nWhat You’ll Learn: \n\nGeneral Overview of the Needle Penetration Test\nCalculating the needle penetration force\nSetting up a Syringe Actuation Tests\nCalculating the peak and average syringe plunger force\nEstablishing Pass/Fail Criteria\n\nWho should attend?  \nManufacturing\, Production and Quality Managers and Engineers involved in: \n\nPharmaceuticals\nMedical Device\n\nTo join\, click here.
